Confirmation PREP Requirements: Are you ready for Confirmation?
Confirmation is an important sacrament in the Catholic Church. It indicates a willingness to accept one's faith, to live out one's faith, and to share one's faith. In order to accept, live and share one's faith, one must be prepared to do so with an understanding and knowledge of what that faith is. Though faith formation is life-long and on-going, a candidate is Confirmed when the student is reasonably formed in his/her Catholic faith. In adhering to the Confirmation guidelines set by the Diocese of Syracuse, St. Helena's students are accepted into the Direct Preparation for Confirmation after completing two years of high school level faith formation and have completed all service and retreat requirements.
Registration for Confirmation Direct Prep is separate and in addition to the regular religious education registration. Early Registration for Direct Prep may take place at the Confirmation Orientation. For those who missed the early registration for direct prep, forms will be given in September. Registration forms are also available on-line in pdf format.
